I also  think they should make a series based in Daniel's time. A time in which time travel is possible and readily used to keep the time line in order. A time travelling series of star trek is different from all the other basis of the other series and has the potential to create good plots.

We are due for a new Star Trek Series, as long as there are not TOO many Pretty People in it. TV Series now these day are being cancelled right and left because NOBODY is watching them and the stories are aweful. There are TOO much Reality TV and the people are exhausted from them. The Star Trek Universe can offer a lot of stories and a lot of possibilities to explore. Enterprose-B and Enterpirse-C series can be a possibility as well as Space Station K-7 series. We just need people with TALENT and not just looks.

If they made a new Star Trek Series, they must be do it right. High quality concept, writers, producers, directors and very important the casting. Not only looking for great actors, no the ones who fit the role of the character they play. Let them have some time...everything that good is need some time.

Personally, I don't think the new Series will air until 2016, just because Paramount/CBS don't want to overdose it.

Yes to a new series! One based on the USS Titan is my favourite right now, but I could go for further in the future. What about the Enterprise-J in the 25th century?

They should do a "Dixon Hill - Private Detective" tv series.

Maybe some 40's CSI might do better with the ratings...

Make it so.

There are already three series with 500+ episodes taking place in the late 24th century. I think any new series should be set much much later, not just a continuation from Nemesis.

The franchise had a lot of success placing TNG a century after TOS, it allowed them to freshen up the look and feel and to distance it from what came before. I think it's time it happened again.

Agreed, after 3 series and 4 movies based in the 24th Century, it's time for another leap in to the future.

A major aspect of Star Trek has been technology, from communicators to tricorders, warp drives to transporters; we've witnessed generations of people inspired by Star Trek to go on to engineer cell phones, tablet computers, handheld environmental sensing devices, etc...

Star Trek needs fresh and ingenious sci-fi writers/producers to push the boundaries of our scientific understanding and pose the tough questions.  That’s were Star Trek is at its finest, melding the philosophical with the technological.  The Wrath of Khan was a brilliant example of this, take the Genesis device, a seemingly revolutionary technology is subverted in to a weapon by a mad man; whilst the Ent crew grapples with Genesis’ moral/ethic ramifications.

I'am personally tired of the melodramatic hormonal hogwash that's been flooding the airwaves the past few years...  Time for another Star Trek Revolution!!!

Not to mention, it would be nice to watch something with a intellectual twist that is appropriate to watch as a family.

We need to get Enterprise Season 5 on Netflix. Lots more fans have gotten into that show since it went off air.

I thinks some time needs to by before they try a new ST TV Show.  The movies have been great but they stretched ideas for a TV show too far.  A movie every two or three years is good.  The only complaints I have with the ST universe is they did not allow Shatner's book "Academy: Trial Run" to be published.  Let him at least finish the Academy series and then call it quits.  Then there has never been a move to bring Shatner back in as Kirk lately.  They did it when they made Generations but why not again? Other than that I am looking foward to the new movie.

"Section 31" could make for some interesting stories. I think it would be cool to have a series that resolves around their way of working.

It would be darker and could provide for some different Star Trek television.

Make it so.

I'm glad you mentioned the books that take place Post-VGR. I've kept up with the crews from TNG, DS9, and VGR through them. The books bring a lot of potential for a 'different look' for Star Trek. They could be something entirely new, we've got Voyager back in the Delta Quadrant actually taking their time this time and exploring. Then the Alpha and Beta Quadrants are extremely different then they were at the end of DS9, VGR and Nemesis. The Borg invasion and the forming of the Typhon Pact can set up pretty much any story line possibility you can think of.

We need a new series. The books are wonderful, don't get me wrong, but we need more then that. New fans are realizing Star Trek all the time and the latest they have as far as series go is Voyager 12 years ago (ok, Enterprise 8 years ago but it was a prequel) We have the new time line movies, they're good, I like them a lot, but they're not the same as watching a crew that you get to know weekly for years. I, as a fan need that. I've watched all the episodes over and over again and done the same with any of the books I can get my hands on. I really think we need to build a series on what the many authors have set up, they have some great ideas that would be fantastic on TV or the big screen.
