Any DSN fans out there enjoy writing? I know there's a lot of Trekkish hobbies; photo manips, fan fiction, roleplaying, etc.

I have been involved in a well-established PBEM sim group for nearly 10 years. They actually recently featured live interviews with Star Trek writers.

Someone should make a model kit of the station.

My made a game for fighting ships but it always takes to long one battle eats up an hour of you're life; would be good if all the statistics were put in a comp, for instance a 20% hole in shields (if not closed) decreases damage by 80%, structural integrety total damage + 2Xdamage from a particular attack = chance of an individual dying and % of nameless crew killed, and double that is change of injury to individual and individuals injured over 50% (1-100% + and % over 100% chance of being injured) may not perform ship operations; warp engins (unles targeted or specifically avoided) structural integrety -60 percentiles timed by 2.5; weapons -50 percentiles X2, impulse -80 percentiles X5, I latter realized they had impulse engins fail before weapons, but it seemed to work better for the game that way.

of course each ship type had dif statistics, and characters could add up to +4% to-hit and on damage (ent phasors 1d4 (up to 5 every 6 seconds) photons 1d6+1 (typically 4 from front (2 pairs) 3 from rear, but can do clusters of 7 or 12; but clusters damage shields all at once, so if at 100% none would damage the ship unless they brought down the front, aft, etc. shields. there's some stratagy, and if wining a battle they get an additional ship and replacement untrained men and all ment get one level (one level could add 1% to avoiding being hit if being a pilot, +1 as above for weapons +1-percentile to any ship function if engineer, etc. plus multi classing, and skills fro interpersonal fighting (such as if boarding or being boarded).

I especially liked games playing with a borg cube (500 structural integrety points, regenerating 1% of remaining portion every 6-seconds; regenerative shields starting at 110% per side, which can be channeled as it wishes.  weapons 4 1d10 bursts per 6-seconds which [like any other ship] can target by doubling damage to shield, weapons, structural integretiy, etc., and halving to all else; or quardroupling with no damage to anything else; this if is turning, each side can fire once each 6 seconds against a single target, but each side may target as many ships as withinn a 45 degree angle of that side) or Fed (100% shield and structural integrety) vs. Romulans, Romulans vs. Clingons, Farangi vs. Fed, etc.

Oh yes. Fanfiction and series-based art are probably my two main hobbies to do with Star Trek.
