What Star Trek gift would you like to receive and why? this can also include funny/ironic/cheesy ideas.

I'm on a tight budget with a maximum of £40 to spend.

I think if they are a fan then just showing that you share their interest is a really good start.

Perhaps suggest watching some romantic episodes together?

Put together a chocolate box with a picture of their favourite (or romantic or even chocolatey) characters / episode / scene on the lid?
