LOL ST has never been consistent. Spock's emotion varied in TOS. The Klingons changed. Specifics about the Romulan War don't add up interseries. Are we damaging space with warp speed or not? James R. Kirk v James T. Kirk. Data's emotion chip. The third episode aired of TOS had a different crew and was back to normal by the fourth episode. The stardate numbering changes. You could spend weeks on the net reading about ST contiunity errors for all series and movies.
Also, the show changed from episode-length stories to season long/multi-episode arcs w/DS9. ENT altered continuity dramatically. On and on.
Stop whining and go watch your remastered DVDs.
It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want. - Spock

That is corect, All Sci Fi shows seem to lack consistency on that level. Space ccanot be damaged, it is a vacuum. Anyway both Wil Wheaton and Jolene Blaclock had something to say about changing the History and re inventing the show. Nice to know I am nit alone.

Oh of course...the same fan base that contributed to killing Star Trek by turning it's back on Enterprise to attack the show with every episode and flocking to see any other movie except the last of terrible TNG films.
Yeah, your in excellent company.
At least that small fraction of fans maintains it's continuity.
Lets try to keep it that way OK?

it wouldn't be too uch to ask to keep the originality. There is something smatteringly phony about changing a show or anython too much. It is like taking a whiz in Cake batter. And no its not OK.

Not sure which side you are on but you make a good point for the Abrams haters.
The people who hated Enterprise, Insurrection and Nemesis seem to be the same people telling the people who hated the Abrams movie that "this is the best we've got" and that all fans should rally behind the franchise no matter what.

I do have to say a two choice poll is slim pickin's and the wording of the choices leaves much to be desired.
1. We want the show to be true to form and the original plots to be in tact.
They are intact!!!!
2. We want change even if the original ideas have been betrayed.
If your referring to ST09, we got change and the original idea's are still there.
If your referring to some of the spin off series, well, they didn't change and in many ways betrayed the original ideas...not to mention they toyed and confused plot's and references from TOS and other spin offs...
Which leaves me confused as to want you really want?

I voted true to form. I don't mind change, but not in this circumstance.

Whatever we get, I'll be satisfied as long as it holds onto the "better future" theme.
"The future is in the hands of those who explore... And from all the beauty they discover while crossing perpetually receding frontiers, they develop for nature and for humankind an infinite love." - Jacques Yves Cousteau
