lol I didn't mind the Intendant so much either -- but I was pointing out that she was a different character to the prime universe's Kira Nerys. And she did get around. (I will not use the S word again because it is offensive.)

Kira is a very strong character. Calling her a slut because she is attractive and has many partners is inappropriate at least.. And calling ANY women, fictional or not, a slut is.. Sorry, it's beyond my english skills to name it.
And this thing about women getting beaten.. Seriously man, just vanish..

It's not a double-standard since getting laid is usually MUCH more difficult for guys, so it's more of an accomplishment of sorts.

Women sometimes get called "sluts" because they can often get laid with little or no effort.

I do not believe even he condones beating women.
What he meant was that the reproductive organs
of Loose Women are "beat up," as in "overworked,"
& all of the conotations & implications that go with it.
But he does seem to have earned the ire of many
female TREK fans. He may have a change of heart?

Still, it's sad something like that was said and that it earned the ire of mainly female fans.. This should appear as inappropriate for everyone, regardless of gender. Noone should be called a slut and no women should be blamed for being attractive and having sex.
But this is getting an off topic, I'd rather admire Kira Nerys

I think Kira is a great example of character development!  When we first meet her she is angry, impatient, really just looking for the chance to get some payback for all that the Cardassians put her through.  She learned restraint, to see through other's eyes (even her enemies!), and worked with others in ways she never would have imagined in the Bajoran Resistance.  Kira grew up, and grew more beautiful along the way.

For cryin' out loud, Uhura can be linked to more men than Kira, and she danced in the desert...under a full moon....naked.....

I think DS9 was much more 'romantic' than TNG or VOY. There were so many love-stories and relationships and at last it was just Julian & Ezri and Rom & Leeta. All the others broke up or someone died.

Don't call her a 'slut'. She's a strong woman and was looking for a man, who's equal to her.

If she would a slut Worf (e.g.) would be a slut too.
