I had Star Trek on DVD and it came with a digital copy. Having just recently aquired my first Blu-ray player, I got the movie again on Blu-ray, and it comes with a digital copy. Is there any difference in quality between the DVD digital copy and the Blu-ray digital copy? I haven't used the Blu-ray digital copy, and if they're the same I'll just give it away to a friend since I already own one.
(By difference I mean: is the Blu-ray a higher quality digital copy than the DVD?)

It's just a link to download the film from iTunes, so the resolution/quality will be whatever the normal resolution is for an iTunes download. It is meant for your computer/iPod/iPad, etc. In short, no difference, it goes to the same exact thing.
Enjoy it on Blu-Ray, it looks stunning, and so will your other blu-rays I'm sure!

The digital copy on DVD which came with the BR is realy exactly the same that you former owned. Obviously the BR is of a higher quality one.
