I think it's a great science fiction concept -- especially that they are born pregnant. Funny, and yet remarkably believable for an alien lifeform to be like this.

Tribbles are a great concept for a science fiction pest animal, lousy to have around but they make a good fictional creature. Good for David Gerrold for coming up with a biological problem instead of a technobabble problem.

Tribbles are a great fictional concept, and admittedly, I WANT ONE! Even though frankly I don't know what on Earth I would do with all those extra tribbles when I only wanted the one.
