Since alot of people have noted on the trailer that two hands are touching on glass like in STTWOK, they think this is some sort of replay of the scene from Wrath that has Spock sacrificing himself to save the ship. Well I totally disagree. When they show the hands pressing together on the glass, one sleeve is indeed blue, but the other is black. I think it's Spock maybe mind melding with the villian (which is now revealed to be an original villian and not one from the series) when he is in the brig. I speak of course of the picture released that shows Kirk and Spock standing outside what looks like a type of brig that has a glass or plexiglass barrier. The villian is wearing a black tunic, so his arm with the black sleeve is, I believe the hand we see pressed against Spocks. Quinto is also signed for 3 movies, so it would be a stupid retread ti kill him off and revive him in the next one. They managed to bring him back in a somewhat convincing fashion in STTSFS, and doubt the filmakers would use that same device, nor would they be able to come up with a better one. SPOCK LIVES!

If Spock's going to die, who else thinks that he should always get down on his knees and outstretch his arms like this every time.

I agree. They won't kill him off this early into the reboot.

Is Nimoy attached to this project at all? I would be very surprised if they managed to keep that under wraps.

I sort of remember them saying he wasn't, so I doubt it. But it would be cool if he was. Maybe in the 3rd movie he will come back.

He probably won't die, and if he does, there will be some magical rescue (it's still Star Trek). Either way, it's all cool for new Spock, I'm just glad that we got a better ending for Spock Prime than that whole Vulcan-Romulan reunification biz. That alone makes new Trek fine in my book.

If spock dies, his katra better live on like Surak. I mean think about if Spock Prime did this once, then the new spock should be able to do so. I just hope he does not need vulcan to help him come back to life.

If Spock was on the "right side" of the glass back then, then Kirk and crew would be dead!

Who cares if this Spock dies anyway? It would have no impact. It's not like he is Leonard Nimoy, except for the new fans that came with the Star Trek movie nobody is going to be in tears.

I don't think there is a "dying side" of the glass. I think that's Harrison in the brig touching hands with Spock.

I think Harrison is Spock's family, hence the voiceover and the hand touch. I don't think it's meant to be the Vulcan greeting, either.
