i don't think the name is right but i think the only guy i can think of that has been on star trek the most other than the main characters is mr. leslie. i don't know if maybe JJ's goons picked the wrong name or maybe got the wrong info i don't know. i might be wrong. anyway he was on the bridge when khan cut life support to the bridge. he was every where and of course where no man has gone before. its got to be him some how. anyway i can't believe no one has mention his name and his face is always there even if only for a second.
and yes i know of him dieing in the episode obsession and in memory alpha he expl;ains how he and the other 2 crewmen came back to life but it was never filmed.

I can't tell if this was tongue in cheek, or if this is supposed to be serious.

yeah he's the only surviving red shirt but he also wore other colours from time to time but if it was a comedy yeah then that would be a funny movie on red shirt vengeance. mr leslie never really had a huge speaking role but he did have few lines sometimes.

"The film's new villain, John Harrison - played by Benedict Cumberbatch - will be a formidable foe for Kirk and his crew."
That's the quote from an artical for Access Hollywood, from an iterview with Quinto, Pine and Abrams.
What's so hard to understand about "NEW VILLIAN"?

JOHN HARRISON-played by Benedict Cumberbatch!
On a side note, I edited my first response as I had mistakenly identified the quote as coming from Pine. It did not.

Did he speak with an English accent though?
|
actually he is an american actor and i think his biggest speaking role came on the episode this side of paradise. the part where everyone is beaming down to the planet and he's on line and kirk walks by him and orders him to return to his station he says no sir then kirk informs him that would be mutiny and in a funny inflection he says yes sir. now i see that crewman harrison had the same role on the enterprise but not as frequent as leslie.

Everyone's talking about John Harrison now. His motivations, his characteristics, etc.
Guys, I hate to break up a year's worth of fun speculation. But, I think it's absolutely clear now. He's John Harrison. Not Khan, not Mitchell, not Garth, not Joachim, not Arne Darvin. It's a new villian. I think we need to get our heads wrapped around that and move on.

benny is an actor that is playing a part how he sounds or the way he speaks is irrelevant. marina sirtis is english but i never picked that up by the way she spoke on TNG. same for the guy who played house.

it's not a stretch. It's simply false.
Unless, of course, Kirk has a brother named John Harrison.
