Okay, I see it didn't go through. I agree that it is an alternate timeline, I simply do not agree with the logic that Spock would exist at all unless the timeline were to be fixed at some future date.
Now I have to sign off as super tired and may be a bit before I can respond more.

That's the thing. This isn't the same kind of alternate timeline we saw in "Yesterday's Enterprise" - this one exists alongside the original one simultaneously.
So it isn't so much an alternate timeline as it is a parallel universe.

Correct. It's more the concept we saw in "Paralells' (TNG) than in a number of other time-travel stories.
