Its been awhile since I last visited some my old favorite message boards one as long as 10 years ago. Like ICQ for instance. But then I never really got in to it Its pretty amazing that its still around.

What are some of the places you use to regularly visit in the past but for what ever reason no longer bother to visit?  How long was it since you last visited? Does the place still exist?

Star Trek is my main haunt, now.  The other sites I used to frequent seem to have had their days in the sun, but now they are just memories.  I feel like I had gone about as far as I possibly could with them.  They are still good sites.

Moved so many times I probably couldn't find my old childhood places even if I felt inclined to try!

The first couple of online sites I joined, I left, but for different reasons. In both cases it was still a pretty amiable parting. Most other places I tend to come and go, sometimes staying away for months, but then I end up coming back again eventually.

Oh I did leave one Star Trek site for no particular reason other than that it got rather quiet. Maybe I'll go back there one day... if I even remember my old password that is.

Yes, that is a problem with leaving a site:  forgetting your password!  I have enough trouble remembering my current ones!

But, you know, it never seems quite the same, when you return to a formerly familiar site.  You've changed, and the other people have changed, as well as new people are there.

The old sayings are true:  "Time is like a river that flows in only one direction" (except in some Star Trek stories!), and "You can never go back again [and find everything still the same]."
