Hi everyone, happy holidays!    I know to one degree or another one Star Trek show has crossed over into another show.  But, wouldn't it be awesome to have it so Star Trek could cross over to a non-Star Trek show or vise-versa?  I think that would be totally cool!  I mean, think about it, it's just space, right?  So, doesn't it make sense that you could go somewhere in space and be in Babylon 5 space, or Star Wars space destroying a Death Star or something?  I think that would be totally awesome, am I right? I'm very surprised no one has done that before on TV or the movies; I think in real life you will see things like that in space in the future.  What does everyone else think, what would you love to see?

They have a comic book crossover with Doctor Who and also a novelised crossover with X-men. I think that Doctor Who might be one of the easier shows to make an effective crossover without having to establish some convoluted plot for how they got there. Just have the TARDIS appear in a cargo bay, and voila.

Television crossover episodes, when they happen, generally come across as a marketing gimmick.

However, just for the hell of it, Star Trek time travel crossed with X-files... that might be fun. I imagine if Star Trek ever crossed with another modern sci-fi show like BSG it would lead to a huge culture clash.

That would be cool!  Especially if they hadn't killed off the Lone Gunmen.

There is a tactical game based on Babylon 5 that I used to play, and some of the players desgined crossover ships for hypothetical matchups, but it wouldn't really work from a storyline standpoint.  Star Wars is in a different time & different galaxy.  Babylon 5 & Star Trek each have Earth developing in different ways with different technologies, and different neighboring races.  Even having it crossover with The X Files would be a problem in that there was at least 1 reference to Star Trek (and more to Star Wars) in The X Files, so having The X Files crossover with something it already referenced as fictional within its own realm would not make sense.

How about a crossover where the Borg, the Cylons and the Terminators have a shared origin.

I would love to see a Star Trek/Doctor Who crossover! The 2 greatest sci-fi shows ever! Another good crossover would be classic Battlestar Galactica.

Uh, We're all right here! Most of us are not so narrow-minded that we can't be fans of more than one sci-fi series! (While we're at it, let's talk season one of SPACE:1999!)

I would love to read those, can you please tell us the titles?  I am sure that there are a lot of members and non-members here who would love to read material like those you mentioned.  Also, the cross-over shows that you mentioned would be great, I would love those!  What Doctor would you like to see, and what episode(s) would you like to see crossed over?  I of course love the Tom Baker episodes; I think that perhaps that is most people’s favorite.  I unfortunately missed most of the new Doctor Who series, but it is a very good show from what I have seen.  Wouldn’t it be cool to be able to mix them up sometimes?  Like to have one actor play in another Doctor’s episodes, or of course to have some of the old series shows being re-made might be cool too.  What does everyone think about that?  I just hope it could be done without losing the appeal of the original shows.

A cross over with the X-files would be awesome too, and perhaps easy since there are a lot of unique and strange mysteries on the Star trek series.  But wouldn’t it be cool to see maybe Captain Kirk and Dr. Crusher trying to solve an X-file?  That would be way cool!  What does everyone else think?

Wow! That would be so awesome, what do you suppose would be the plot of an episode(s) like that?  Would you base an entire series on that?  How would it work when all three seem to want total control and to take over everyone and everything, especially The Borg?

Yeah, that would be cool too!  How about also, an episode, or movie in which the star trek crew battled the Visitors from V?  Would that be cool?  Which would be more cool, the original visitors, or from the re-make?  How about a cross-over with Buck Rogers?  Who would be on that episode?
