Does anyone else find Chakotay the most boring Trek character to exist?

Maybe an exaggeration calling him the most boring ever, but really, every time I went to watch an episode and found it to be a Chakotay centred episode, I let out a huge sigh. And it also annoyed me that after multiple seasons worth of forming a relationship with Janeway (one which I never saw becoming anything more than a strong friendship, but that's beyond the point), they rush this really unbelievable romance between him and Seven. Which frankly, didn't make him any more interesting for me. Urgh, dull.

He was really dull. He had a lot of potential, but he seemed like just this guy who didn't do anything. Endgame didn't make sense with him. Janeway said she couldn't live without him, which was odd, and I couldn't believe the romance. Yes, I found him to be unbelievingly dull

Janeway could get a little carried away at times, like in "Scorpion" or "Equinox", and Chakotay was always there to try to keep her under control.

Is he particularly interesting? No, of course not. But I think he did have at least a semi-important role throughout the series.

Yes, he did that, but also he had to balance out issues between StarFleet & Maquis.  He had to defend his Maquis from prejudice & keep the Maquis in line when they talked about taking over.  He was in a very precarious position with that.  Obviously, that was more of an issue early in the series & basically resolved less than half way through, but it still showed a good side to his character that he kept that balance.

Voyager had the first female captain. I guess they didn't wan't Chakotay to become a too prominent figure. Chakotay was first officer, member of the Maquis, Indian. He had an enourmous potential as a character. He would outshine the captain.

Everybody has his day, as a damper he did help Janeway sometimes, yet I still think his is too conservative and easy to give up.  I recall in one episode when they two contracted a virus and was left in a planet. Chacotay was ready to accept the reality but the captain was not. He would never came up with the idea of allying with Borg and he released all those drones (7 was lucky) to the vacuum. Ironically he fell in love with seven in the end which is quite abrupt to me. He never had a crush on her during the entire four seasons since 7 came aboard.

Wow. Chokotay is my favorite character in Voyager. I always loved everything about him. I always found him to be very interesting. I just suppose everyone is different.

What about Harry Kim?  I thought Chakotay was restrained, but Kim was just kind of boring.

We saw what Chakotay was all about in Learning Curve when he gave his fellow Maquis a left hook for giving Tuvok a hard time.

The creators of Star Trek wants all races and cultures to be represented.  I haven't watched every second of Star Trek there is, but what I HAVE seen, this is the first time a Native American Indian was a prominent character.

Just my 2 cents.

I honestly adored him. His lack of conviction with his character showed sometimes on set, but I do believe he did his best with what he was given. Towards the end when he hooked up with 7 I felt they were just adding a bit more spice to his docile personalitypersonality and tried to get his character to open up a bit more. The episodes that he was centered around were pretty interesting though. Like "The Fight" for example you can see Robert get into it more and we got to know Chakotay a bit better. He still should have gotten with Janeway. ;)

I think that the most boring character that appears in most of one episode is indeed, Chakotay.
