I have a question:  Does anyone know how to slow down a ship, when its warp drive isn’t working properly and cannot be stopped?

I would suggest venting the plasma from the nacelles, as safely (gradually?) as possible, as they mentioned in ENT: "Civilization."

I would suggest allowing the warp field bubble to slowly collapse so that the pressure of Dark Matter would create a force of resistence on the ship that would slow the forward momentum of the ship based on the inability of the ships warp drive to maintain a constant velocity through sub-space.
