Ahh.... yea.... that would be about when it was the Continuum on MSN and then transferred to it's own system. Yea.. I was on about then - had fun in our little chat room (called "Quark's Bar" back then) where we had 3-D avatars.
There's almost nobody around from those days.

I think that the actual startrek.com started in late 2000 or early 2001. Since you said 1998, I figured you were talking about the Continuum.

I found ST.com in August 1989 when I first got online. And joined ACTD rather quickly after that. One of things I remember was the Michael Dorn chat! I had some of my questions asked and answered by Michael, so that was cool! And Michael got kicked out of the chat room when he was asked about Terry Farrell, he got kicked for cursing. It took a bit to get him back in the chat room and he was cool about it, too 
Lot's of good memories and some great friends made back then! Still friends with alot of those from the old days
