Dominion started 2nd season and finished the final year, not a single season single story, the DOminion war was a backdrop for many interesting posibilities of adventure and character exploration; were Xindi the twisty chameleans? or was that the war with the animal people?  Twisty people cool, but would have prefered they introduce no new characters or races, and just concentragte on explaining everything not explained in all other series, that Y I thought it would be genious and Y I then thought they must have hit thier heads repeatedly when no follow through on genious idea

but loved loved loved the    dynamic

I have a love hate relationship with the xindi plot. It made season 4 great, but probably was a major reason for Enterprise's cancelation. It was to disconnected and drawn out, creating a new alien race was not a good idea, back stories and situations based on the older series would have been a better idea.

I liked it for a intergalatic war story/arc

I hate the fact that not a word is even mentioned ever again (and I know durherherder why) Even Sullban are like "Nope"

I mean one could easily say "well time stuff happens"

It was a Ok season a bit long winded as a story arc but had some brilliant episodes like the one where Archer keeps losing his memory and T'pol takes care of him.

In response to the person saying they jumped to the Klingons to early. I think they wanted to relate to the fans of TOS TNG and Ds9 by showing a familiar alien speicies rather than the Suliban to start with. I'm just not happy that it wasnt a disaster of a first contact that is stated in canons

You are probably correct in that, but they keep going back to the same well.  How many episodes do we really need the rehashing of the same stuff?  I didn't mind the Klingons early on in TNG, but this is why Roddenberry originally wanted to exclude Klingons entirely from TNG in favor of developing new species.

I love the klingons in TNG and DS9 as it delved more in ther culture rather thna just picturing them as the enemy wegot to see them as people as well which is one of the reasons I think TNG was so effective having Worf in the series

I agree with livelongandprospertrip about the Xindi arc. There were several things about it that I found problematic. First, it probably wasn't necessary to stretch the arc out to an entire season. Even season three had some non-Xindi episodes. Second, i didn't like the Iraq invasion overtones, these episodes aired around the time the U.S. had decided to invade Iraq looking for WMDs, a parallel to Archer entering the expanse to search for the Xindi weapon. Third, i found the whole board room aliens concept stupid. Enterprise lost me in the third season due to the Xindi arc, I imagine many other fans fell away as well. In sum, I didn't like the execution of the concept, the concept itself-a defensive first strike to prevent extermination, kinda like Bush's invasion argument, or how long it took to develop. It may well have contributed to the cancellation of the series.

Why didnt the xindi simply go back in time and kill Cochran the crew's respective parents or do any number of things to disrupt the mission. This is the problem with invoking time travel. Anything becomes possible and you end up with unavoiable plot holes.

tricotist12,

Have you seen Continuum? Its a Canadian sci-fi show airing in the states on the Scyfy channel that deals with time travel. There's an episode where the bad guys try to do the very thing you are talking about, they try to kill the protector's grandmother to prevent the protector's birth. You might like that show.
