I would have liked if they went into more depth on the storyline from the TNG episode, "Birthright, Part I" where Dr. Bashir was running diagnostics in the Enterprise's sickbay on a device was discovered in the Gamma Quadrant, that he believes it to be some sort of medical imaging scanner. It would have been interesting, with Data's help, if they went into the Gamma Quadrant to find out the origins of this device and what its purpose was. Was it used by the Jem'Hadar? Was it planted by the Founders to use to lure the Federation and study them? Was there ever a follow-up done or an in-depth story done on the Gamma Quadrant device in DS-9 episodes or in novelization? Thanks.

ok ill admit i barley remember the episode but, at the moment your talking about, ds9 was orbiting Bajor not the worm hole. the wormhole hadn't been discovered yet. the first ep of ds9 when the enterprise left and the cardassinans came or what not, then the Enterprise came back after the worm hole was discovered. so maybe im wrong or you found a hole between the series. im going to re watch the episodes to find out

I have to disagree with you on that. We knew who Bashir was, and IIRC, LaForge made some comment about talking to O'Brien about the replicators indicating that O'Brien had already transferred, which means that DS9 had already started, and the station was moved in the first episode.

*The wormhole was discovered (and DS9 moved to be closer to it) in the very first episode of the series.
*The Enterprise came back at the end of Emissary, but this is not at the same time as Birthright.
*The reason it was on DS9 in Birthright was because Picard was sent there to help set up an aquaduct system on Bajor.

Emmisary came first.
Birthright take place a few week or months after the Wormhole was found.
