I was looking at the various graphic mockups of the new Luna class starships, the class of ship U.S.S. Titan commanded by Will Riker is designed.

It seems to me that it lacks enough phaser arrays to adequetly defend itself, at least aft. What is protecting the necelles and engineering hull?

Same for the Romulan Warbird, Klingon Vor'cha crusier & Bird of Prey? Where are the aft defenses?
