Okay. So it's my first time going!
I have the Rio booked, now all that's left is the flight and Convention tickets. However only the Gold and Captain pacakges are advertized in the website. Are there more, cheaper tickets going to be coming out on sale soon, or is that it? |

There are definitely cheaper tickets. Platinum last year was about $350, and you can get standard 4 day passes for like $150 or $200.

I cant wait to go but I'm definatly not doing the gold or captains chair packages :c im only 17 with no job yet so I've been saving for this! |

emailed customer.service@creationent.com but i cant wait for them to get back to me. its taking too long. so does the Gold Weekend Package give you access to the Friday Captain's Chair at voodoo lounge? there is no mention of it in the "14 benefits". only the thursday night dinner party is stated.

I haven't been to these parties before, but it seems to me that they're holding the same party twice: once on Thursday and once on Friday. Thursday is the Gold patrons and Friday is the Captain's Chair patrons. That's all. So no, you'd only get to go once, to the party for your related package, unless you separately bought tickets to go to the other one. |

I just bought my Captain's Chair tickets -- I was holding out for Preferred, but a front and center CC seat showed up just as they were about to open the next category, and I couldn't resist it. I just hope it's not as hot this year as last year.
By the way, I've stayed at the Rio and I've stayed at the Gold Coast across the street, and I prefer the Gold Coast. Not only is it cheaper (and they have a sale going on right now too!), but the buffets are more "ordinary," and so are the restaurants. I really don't like eating fancy food all the time, and if I pay $20 for a breakfast buffet, I feel I have to eat enough to make it worth the ticket. Their premium rooms aren't suites, but they're clean and decent, and I'm not in them much anyway. |
