I only saw one episode during the original run: the last half of "The Lights Of Zetar". I didn't know what it was (I was 10 years old), but I thought it was really cool. A year later a local station started showing the reruns and I would catch the second half of it after watching something on another channel after getting home from school. Ironically, the first one I saw was the last one that was produced: "Turnabout Intruder". But the one that made me a fan; The one where I HAD to see the WHOLE episode the next day after school was "The Menagerie". From then on I was totally hooked! And I still am! And regarding LiveLongAndProsper's comment: "The Conscience Of The King" is one of my favorites too, It BEGS for a prequel!

Honestly, and it has nothing to do with the plot, the main female actress in 'Spock's Brain' was so lovely and dressed so lusty that I was instantly addicted.

Simple, the show was about outter space....that's all that was needed.  It was the only show on at the time.  Well, there was Battlestar Galactica and then "eventually" Buck Rogers (the 1980's version).

Honestly,  there is not one single episode that I can pinpoint regarding my love of Star Trek.  My first exposure was back in 1971 when I was 7. Back in the olden days, re runs from the 60s flooded the airwaves.  If you missed an episode at 4, another channel had it at 5..and another at 6.

For me, Star Trek was just.. there for my mind to soak up.

12 years ago, I watched "The Conscinence of the King"   7 year old me had no clue what innuendos were.  37 year old me was busy picking up the jaw up off the floor as Lenore and Kirk were slinging them at each other thorough out the episode.   Great writing.

I actually loved every episode of TOS, but the first one that I really enjoyed properly was "The Enemy Within".
