Any thought on why fans like the two episodes called Year of Hell? i know I liked it because it showed what a family everyone on board the ship is and it also in my opinion deepened alot of the charecters.

I really liked it mainly for the Annorax character. Kurtwood Smith was great.

Year of Hell is my number 1 favorite episode ever in Star Trek out of all 715 episodes, those 2 are my favorite. It was amazing.

My take on it was, and is, "What a creative way to burn a year off the voyage in just two episodes." After those episodes I noticed the writers found ways to jump closer to home more often.   It's like they suddenly realized they had to cram a 70year trip into a 7year series. Just my opinion.

But I believe they reset it, as if the Year of Hell never happened, when Janeway rammed Voyager into Annorax's timeship.
