I like the idea of Jadzia replacing Troi as Counselor.  She does have the benefit of several lifetimes' experiences, although she isn't telepathic.  Perhaps they could add a telepath to the staff, who would be the Captain's Assistant or even XO.

Come to think of it, wouldn't it be interesting to see a ship with an all-telepathic crew?  It would be difficult to lie to them, wouldn't it?

Put Kirk in place of Picard.

Just for giggles, I'd replace Data with Abby from NCIS

Not sure who to replace, but I would have loved to watch Alan Rickman on TNG    Snape as Q, hmmmmm that has possibilities LOL

What about having someone like Johnny Carson hosting a talk show onboard?  You could have interesting people of the week and guests from the current planet or starbase you're visiting appear.  (You'd probably have to make it a weekly show, though, rather than one every night.)
