When T'Pol joins Starfleet as a Commander, why doesn't she get a Starfleet uniform?

I know why the producers and stuff did it, cause she's the sexy one on the crew, just like Councelor Troi and Seven of Nine.
Bur is there a canon explaination in the show to explain this? Just curious

I don't know if it's canon, but the star fleet has made uniform exceptions for cultural reasons before. The best examples would be Worf's baldrake and Scotty's kilt (dress uniform). Even Spock wore his Vulcan IDIC on his dress uniform.

T'Pol never actually joined Starfleet oficially (unless I've forgotten something critical).  She was always there on assignment from Vulcan as an observer, and made her reports directly back to her superiours there. When she refused to leave Enterprise as ordered, she was allowed to stay, but her mother paid the price on Vulcan for her daughter's decision to make a stand against the Counsel.

Also, Kira Nerys of DS9 can be seen in her Bajoran uniform and not that of Starfleet.  Starfleet does not impose dress code on those that are not technically members of Starfleet regardless of where they are posted.

T'Pol resigned her position with the Vulcan High Command in 2153 and in 2154, ADM Forester granted her as position in Starfleet with the rank of CDR.  Although her uniform is different than Starfleet's, she does wear the rank and the Enterprise patch.

Although she did wear the official Starfleet uniform in "Twilight"

Kira was part of the Bajoran Militia, not a Starfleet officer.  It wasn't until Season 7 when Kira was given a Starfleet commission in "When it Rains..." that she wore the Starfleet uniform (with the rank of CDR.)

Perhaps she, like Deanna Troi and a couple others mentioned, simply chose not to wear the uniform for one reason or another. It may not have been comfortable for her or something. Also, since she was merely "granted" her rank and position and wasn't actually an academy graduate and all that, maybe she didn't get a uniform.

beacause, she like that person said in the last post, shes the only good looking female on the ship, but I will add this: and when wearing a starfleet uniform (as they did in the one wear archer is hit by the anomly and he cant have a long term memory any more) it takes away about 90% of her sexyness. and THAT would bring down the ratings. well, thats it. bye!

I am sorry, I mean in the TOP post.
