when ever i go back to my tapes to watch the show
(i dont buy the dvds since i was so offended by the last episode
and the way they turned the films into dumb popcorn action films for chowder heads then marketed it as a film for non trekkers happy taking our billions in the past but dont want us any more when they can get REAL people to watch thier films )
any way
i find i alway skip over the fourth season
too many TOS references not enough federation building or romulan war
the first season(lots of the Explorers finding thier feet, i liked that ,didnt have to abandon it so soon)
The second season opened strong then went terrible but closed with four or five strong episodes
third season brilliance layer on layer of arc-i-ness
with various high points through out
one of the best trek eps ever was first flight
does anyone else have a favourite season that wasnt the last one?

Mine is a combination of Seasons 1 and 2. My favorite Trek episode is "Shuttlepod One". But I do like Seasons 3 and 4. The Klingon arc within that season and the Andorian arc are some outstanding work. IMO. I also like the augments arc.
TATV I don't watch anymore, though I don't hate it as much as I did ONLY because of the books following that episode.

I guess I liked Seasons 2 and 3. It's been a while since I've watched the show.
Season 4, IMO, had too much of the Andorians and Romulans, to the point that the show's characters were no longer being developed -- or even doing anything interesting -- and the only purpose the show seemed to serve was to throw out continuity nods. Klingon foreheads, Data's great-grandfather, something about Khan, Surak and mindmelds, etc. Lots of neat trivia, but not enough human drama, which is what had been going on in Season 3.

Sorry, but I'm a believer that S4 was the best. If you're a prequel, you have to lay groundwork and make use of the 40+ years of lore that has been built up in the other shows, but mainly TOS, since it would be the next show in chronological order. All this while maintaning originality, which they did in S2 and S3.
Including the basis for the UFP and the Romulan War finally made me feel like this is what the show should have been like all along.

I really liked the storylines in season 4, but I really liked the Season 3 arc. Seasons 1 and 2 had good episodes, but they wern't my favorite.

I enjoy Season 3 and 4 very much. But Season 2 is my favorite out of the 4 total. I think I'm the only fan who likes These Are The Voyages? I think it's a wonderful episode. The Pegasus is one of my favorite TNG episodes, and Riker is one of my all time favorite characters and I just absolutely loved how everything all came together. It was awesome I thought.

i liked the federation building
a little as it was
but im not really a big fan of the original show(i know, heresy)
they didnt have to have every ep with thousands of refs to it
and those mirror universe eps were a bit of a waste of time
considering how few ep they had left to get us to the earth romulan war

Laying groundwork and building infrastructure and constructing continuity is all well and good, but it shouldn't be done to the exclusion of a show's characters. I could care less about the UFP and the Romulan War; I cared more about Archer, Hoshi, Trip, and T'pol. At least Trip and T'pol had something going on in Season Four, even if it was just a rather plodding romance. None of the others got a chance to do much of anything, and they got turned into static nobodies stuck in endless space battles and shootouts. I felt like I was watching a crew of complete strangers.

Season 4 hands down. There are some good shows sprinkled here and there throughout the rest of the series. Season 3 on the other hand.... My rule of thumb : If a story arc is going to last more than 3 episodes, then just make a movie.

Second time lucky (Curses on all these bugs at st.com!)

The Xindi arc was so confusing first time I watched it-- so for that reason, although I like the third season, it is probably my least favourite of the four.
I did like the structure of season four. Dividing it into two or three episode arcs worked quite well. Some of these actual stories came off better than others.
The final episode had some decent story threads in it, but these were lost in the jumble of "Stuff" that the writers and producers tried to cram into that episode -- and I think that's why it sucked.
First and second season had some solidly decent one-off episodes.
All told, I don't think I have a favourite.

I like the 4th season because it had two things in it: one of Lt. Commander Data's ancestors and smooth headed klingons. I like how they showed how the Soongs started out in genetic engineering and then turned over to cybernetics. I like the story of how some klingons got the smooth head familiar to the TOS klingons. I also like the vulcan story arc where archer is given the Katra of Surak and we find out that Romulans are on vulcan up to their devious ways.

Personally, thanks to this site for having all the episodes of Enterprise, I'm able to watch them, but I like episodes in all 4 seasons.

Well even the actors say that they hit the mark in season 4. First 3 seasons were not bad at all but the 4th brought it all.
