the spammers are a pain in the butt.

Here's what makes me sad: I'm just starting out here.  First time ever.  And I'm feeling kind of discouraged by not only the spam, but also by the "prove you're not spamming and type this irritating hard to read phrase in" (Captcha-sol-WAH?!?!). I have almost no experiance on message boards since 2002 or so... is this really what they're like now?

The most disconcerting thing about the spamming is not that it happens but the time(hours perhaps days) these malacious posts are allowed to remain on the subforum boards. Are there no(or not enought) Mods on this board to handle these ubiquitous, necessary forum tasks? Who are the Mods, btw?

On most other sites I frequent, the Mod'a names are well known and always approachable and to listen to site issues & recommendations that users may have.

There seems to be a huge disconnect with respect to this cyber rapport on this forum though.

I'm new to this forum, and it takes me 3 tries to get a Captcha right...I'm enjoying the discussions, though (and ignoring the spam).

Does anyone know what the issues are?  Has anyone tried to find out what the spammer wants or what point is the spammer trying to make?  Maybe it's been done before, but it may be worth repeating.  Especially since it takes so long for the spam to get deleted by the Moderators.

Who cares what some sad pathetic loser wants who has nothing better to do than ruin a place others are trying to have fun at. They need to take a long look in the mirror and realize they are no good.

I don't think the mods are even there anymore. Apparently this site is not affiliated with CBBS Or something. Whenever a news thing comes up I think the site automaticaly posts it to give the illusion of moderators.

That is just SAD! Was there beter moderation in previous days? I'm not really discouraged from checking in on some posts every once in a while, but it would be nice not to see all this spam everywhere...

Of course that's just an opinion, except for the CBBS thingie. I only do the TNG roleplaying on here and even then I'm scared of it logging me out and never letting me back on like twice before. GAH!
