I saw Nemesis for the first time the other day. I am confused about something. In the end seen, when he starts whistling, is that Data, or B4? I thought the memory download didn't work, but it showed, SPOILER ALERT one of them blowing up, on the enemy vessel.

For the record though in the last scene of Nemesis it was B4, because Data died rescueing Cpt Picard with the transporter device he got from Geordy off the Scimatar.

STO made up that B4 was somehow Data.

There is a theory from me watching it, is that B4 blew up. Data lived.

How could you come to such an conclusion? Data did only appear again in the post-Nemesis timeline of the game I referred to.

Or did you speculate it on yourselve? (By watching the movie.)

Well, my theoory is, when the memory download didn't work, but B4 was working against them, when Data knew what he had to do, he reactivated his brother, switched clothes, and sent B4 to the fate he knew awaited him if he went to the enemy vessel.

I always believed it was B4.

Exactly. The timeline is

Memory download- Didn't work

B4 betrays Data- Deactivated

Data goes to the enemy ship- knows his fate

B4 whistles the song- Data sand

IF THE MEMORY DOWNLOAD DIDN'T WORK, HOW DID HE WHISTLE IT?

B4 wasn't sophisticated enough to handle all the information that Data had in his head, not only what Dr. Soong put in there, but the accumulated experiences of the years Data had been activated. The overall memory transfer failed, but that's not to say that some simple things may have made it through, things which B4 could have processed, such as the lyrics and tune of a song. And he sang it, he didn't whistle it. It was Data that died on the Scimitar. The song was just one last little tribute to Data before the movie ended.

I still say it came more into picture of Data being the one in the end.

I'm of a like mind with JK1701.  My thoughts are that the download was only partially succesful in that the simple and basic things took with some of the slightly complicated things 'sticking' around and the much more complicated things either not taking or possibly being automaticly rerouted to a type of storage space where they wouldn't 'bother' B-4.

A few books touch on B-4's life after Nemisis and it is interesting, I thought.

I just think that if he couldn't remember Dr. Soong the song would not be there, and Data would have been the one to live.

That sounds a bit cold for Data.

I think the memory download worked, but B-4 just needed time for his brain to interpret Data's memories. Whether they all surface or not we'll probably never know.

I think Randy was speaking hypothetically. There's no TNG movie in the works, at least not that I'm aware of.
