The best person to play Q's son? Q's son! I can't remember the name of John Delancie's kid, but he did a great job on Voyager. I would boycott Star Trek forever if Ashton Kutched ever showed his crappy face in a Star Trek movie.

I'll never understand why people keep thinking an omnipotent character like Q would work in a feature Motion Picture setting...

For a cameo, I can see how it would work, just to pop in, pop out, and get on with the movie. What I question is, Why, since the next movie will be Original Series and they never met Q, and again, John Delancie is getting a little old to continue playing an omnipotent character, just like it was time for Brent Spiner to hang up his positronic net.

If Q's cameo made sence in the new film, then yes. Otherwise it would be a waste. Of course they would need the actor who played Q in TNG (his name escapes me now)

Keep Q out of the theatres!

(BTW: there's no need to "fix" the timeline. The Abrams movie takes place in a seperate universe that diverged from the prime reality in 2233, when the Narada came through)
