Some meteorites consist of rocks that are older than the Earth.  They tell about older parts of the universe.

That would really be cool--to find any fossils inside a meteorite!  I don't think that any has ever been found like that.  But, that is a fascinating idea!

Wasn’t there a claim by NASA that there was actually fossilized bacteria found in a meteor which was found in the earth’s artic?

Yes, I think the meteorites from Mars struck there, but I don't think they were older than the rocks on Earth.  Of course, I could be wrong.
