At least that response from the Admins was a lot faster than normal - took a little less than an hour from when I first informed them. |

Throwing up multiple posts very quickly is very easy with macros. It's a useful tool when testing code, but it's just as destructive for sites like this that isn't managed well.

I would appreciate it if you actually read my posts for information... and then post based on some knowledge, not baseless accusations. As anyone that's been around here for any length of time knows, I'm an IT Director and have a lot of experience with many different IT systems, including running websites and forums. It is common knowledge with anyone in my field that there are tools out there to make a lot of posts on a site. It's people like me that stop hackers.

I suppose they don't have the ability to ban IP addresses either?
Seems like they are just banning the account and deleting posts. That won't solve anything.

That doesn't work for two big reasons:
1) Most users' IP addresses are dynamic and change all the time.
2) Many users go through Network Address Translation, so many people could be using the same IP address - banning that address would also ban others.

I wonder what the TOS states about those who have been banned dozens of times but continue to return under dual accounts. Or those who start message boards elsewhere whose sole purpose is bashing ST.com and continue to post here?
