Hi all,

I've been working on an Astrometric map of the Star Trek universe (which in my map includes movies, books, snd tv series - not Shatnerverse, video games or unlicensed material) where I place every Star Trek Star (or base) that has a real world equivalent in a space map.

Using this I can calculate the distance (ly) between any two stars I have plotted. I have over 120 stars plotted in the following categories: Federation Worlds, Klingon Worlds, Independent Worlds, Federation Starbases, Sheliak worlds, Romulans Worlds, and Romulan Neutral zone worlds.

Not only can this be of assistance to anyone who wants to ask me for real star distances for their fanfiction or what have you, but I also could use your help!

Problem 1: the Cheron System - is it in Romulan or Federation control? If anyone can provide with me a sourced argument or even sourced evidence as to who controls this system in the 2380s I would appreciate it.

Problem 2: There are a LOT of stars out there and I'd like this map to be as complete as possible so if you know of a Star Trek world/star that has a real life equivalent (and can provide sourcing or proof) then let me know and I can add it to my map.

Currently the following worlds have been plotted as of June 21, 2012.

Wolf 359 actually exists, and I assume that since the Borg had already entered Federation space by that point in BOBW, it is a member or colony system of the Federation (most likely colony, since it goes by the human name of Wolf 359).

What about Rigel? Isn't it a Federation member?

Yes it is, however Rigel in Star Trek is referred to as Beta Rigel and not the "true Rigel" (Beta Orionis) so I would need to find out which star Rigel orbits to plot it.

Similarly, I would love to plot DS9, Bajor and Cardassia (and just about every other Star Trek system) however I need to first determine which Star System they are in which is where I need help

In the mean time I plotted several new systems last night:

Halka (unaligned), Alam'ak (Federation), Iota Cephei (Cardassian), Lya Station Alpha (Federation), Castor (Federation), Zeta Volantis (Romulan), Gorath (Klingon), Brestant (Klingon), Tiburon (Federation).

If you're still working on this, I believe Chekov said something about heading for the Coal Sack Nebula when Beal hijacked the Enterprise and pointed it for Cheron.
