I believe that spamming is an issue accross the entire internet and has been for years.

My suspicion is that it's a person of group of people who came here, acted abusive and obnoxious without axially adding anything, got banned, and developed a case of butt-hurt over it.

What we need is a couple volunteer mods whose sole purpose is to delete spam accounts and their accompanying posts.

you know, I think that is giving them too much credit. I think it's just someone who wandered in made some inane comments, got basicaly ignored and decided people were going to notice them.
