How annoying is the new password system for submitting posts?

i've been away and only encountered the new system yesterday

it really slows down posting, not least because it's really hard to read the code letters sometimes

i don't know another board that does this - should we be objecting loudly?

PS - sorry should have posted this elsewhere but you guys can cope with that i know

Really I think if they limited to creating threads and if you're posting several times in a given time period, it would balance out the spambots and be more user friendly.

Tho the one thing I find iretating that the "jump to a forum"-option is still bugged. I hope they fix it soon.

I have found myself posting less then usual. I do not like the codes, but at least they are easy to read and they seem to work when you put them in.

I will continue visiting star trek.com daily and I will get used to putting in the code words.

They're pretty annoying, especially when the Captcha doesn't show up immediately so you have to click "Submit", then wait for the page to reload, then fill in the Captcha and Submit again...

On a computer it's no problem but trying to post by mobile is terrible.

For the record, I put the middle option.

Yeah, I saw the spambot came back a few days ago. So much for special code posting.

It sucks to have to try to decipher the sometimes heavily distorted lettering every time I try to post something, but considering the THOUSANDS of "posts" that threw the actual discussions back something like 60 PAGES, I understand it.  I guess it is better than dealing with TSA patdowns.  I just hope they have the failing to post so we have to try again issue fully resolved because the combination of the 2 would seriously screw things over here.

I'm glad that the laggy "jump to a forum"-menubox is fixed at this time.

I don't have a problem with it.  Spam on this site needs to be reigned in.  That said, a better solution would be some moderation on these boards and a more rigorous registation process (a la TrekBBS).
