A few years ago I read a Star Trek book that linked the shape of the communicator symbol to the physics of warp speed.  Can anyone tell me what the book is called?  I'd love to read it again.

I am fairly certain you are thinking of the book Federation by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens. It was when Cochrane was explaining how warp drive worked.

Are you sure it isn't time for a colorful metaphor?

Thank you so much!  I work for a library and I have just requested this book.  Looking forward to a nostalgic read!

You can get a Star Trek book at a library?  I used to try to do that, but they never carried them and they wouldn't order them from other libraries...  I finally started buying them.... and now have about 500....

My local libraries have a small collection of paperbacks. It's where I finally read the New Earth series. I bought a lot too but it is getting time to get rid of a bunch of ones I don't really want anymore.

I've just done a quick keyword search for "star trek" on my library's catalogue and got 257 hits.  How good are we?!
