NO..EVERYBODY got it wrong..In TOS Kirk shirt was never YELLOW or GOLD the command color was GREEN, OLIVE Green, just like the wrap around shirt he wears, his regular tunic appears Goldish because of the lighting..

in TNG and DS9

Command is Red

Sciences is GREEN-Blue

Operations is Gold

In TOS, Red,Your'e DEAD!

I'e never seen anyone rage over the difference between yellow and olive green before... 

Nobody has explained what this green means and why it is worn only by Kirk with the Starfleet emblem at the waist and shown sideways...

who knows maby the shirts would change color over emotion

in TOS for engineering

I would just like to point out that not every captasin we saw in the TOS era word the greenish gold color.

We did see a captsain wearing Blue.

We also saw a captain in the TOS Movie era wearing yellow.

NO NO NO, you people really KNOW HOW to drive a guy NUTS, NOBODY IN THE FLIPPIN TOS WORE YELLOW, WILLIAM THESIS, THE GUY THAT DESIGN THE UNIFORMS SAID "The Command colors were OLIVE GREEN, THE STUPID PSYCHEDELIC LIGHTS FROM THE 1960's made the shirts appear yellowish Gold, LOOK AT THE DVD'S or PHOTO'S, KIRK NEVER WEAR YELLOW, neither did Sulu or Chekov.
