Could you reconsider your decision not to have a pm system on the board?  There is a real sense of community building here again and I think a pm system would really encourage that.  It's through pm's that casual aquantances on the board become real friends.  Sure they could use email but there is no way to securely exchange email or any other information on the board.

Sadly, just before they ended the pm function, there were some individuals using it to make back door threats and organize attacks upon targeted individuals. I recommend asking people to go to another web site where there are pm functions or otherwise leaving a trail that people can follow to contact you in person. Of course, precautions should be taken so that you don't have to fight off an unwanted stalker.

Most sites have a feature to report any kind of offence on the top corner... they should have it with PMs as well.

i hope that some one will tell me on how to make friends here.

not to mention there were years of pm's here without any major issues.  And there is nothing to stop people from having other web sites to organize attacks or threats.

I use the PM function on trekbbs and facebook all the time and never have trouble.  Like Wissa says, if you don't want to hear from someone, you block them.  Easy-peasy. 

I think having PM and blocking abilities would actually reduce the trolling because the trolls would move onto PMing where we would block them. 

However, as I've said, Wissa.  The admins are NOT going to make changes. They haven't budged on suggestions and advice by caring members in the last few years. 

then maybe they will learn the hard way.....

If there were an add as friend function here, you would have just been added to my list.

I would love a pm system here. There are things  you just don't want to give out on a profile. And as already mentioned, you can stop people from pming you. Easy as that.
