I've been asking for an ignore user option for a minute on this very board. Users should be able to ignore individual users and entire threads.
Also, I think it was Matthias Russell who recommended community moderators. Trusted, long -time posters who can nip problems in the bud quickly if the regular Mods aren't available.

On another forum I use, they reqire you to wait 30 secons between posts. Makes the universe so much easier, you know?

I think that's a good idea. This way too if you are having a problem you know to who to contact. And not just random person that may or may not get back to you.

I'd really like the "ignore user" option. It would make things so much easier.
Why would TPTB not want community mods? Since Admin isn't here half the time, it would definitely help.

They should pin topics in the less popular forums. That way, the pinned tppic will be what is showing in that forum on the Community menu page. It wouldn't stop the spamming, but it would disguise the fact that a spam attack is underway. Such a disguise would make it easy to ignore the spammers.
