Hey! I liked the Janeway cameo! lol

No, honestly...character crossover stuff is so annoying and obvious for "let's play to the fans" appeal that it seems ridiculous and always takes me right out of the story.

My Only Peeve about Nemesis Is Too much boring Subplot. They built Up Shinzon as'The Greatest Villan Since Khan'. Maybe Trying To Compare The Two Was The Big Mistake.

Didn't hate it or love it.  Liked it better than ST:TMP and ST:The Final Frontier though.  Could they have written it better?  Possibly.  Could they have presented the story better on the screen?  In my opinion they could always do that

The premise wasn't bad, per say, but the way it was on the screen did seem kind of rushed and a chopped-up/hodge-podge finished product.  For me, there were bits that just didn't seem to flow.  Still not the worst I have ever seen, but I do think that they could have done better with the overall story

I actually quite enjoyed Nemesis (even when I was crying over Data's death). I believe that everyone says they hate it becuase they hate the fact that Data was killed. I think that Nemesis confronts people with the mortality of characters they love, and it also in a way sums up all of TNG. Without Data, you can't really have another movie. It ended what we all love so much. This is what I believe causes the "hate" towards Nemesis. Instead of a "happily ever after" ending, we have an ending that seems more lifelike, and makes us sad. I'm actually kind of glad they killed Data. I'm glad Data died the way he did. He died with honor and dignity. He could have been taken slave forever and ever. I liked Nemesis and don't really understand why no one else does. At least my answer wasn't one word...

On the one hand I can see how it could be that way. However, on the other hand it could also establish the connection between Picard and Janeway and reinforce the point that this is a single universe, and there are naturally fewer admirals than there are captains. Not that I don't sort of agree, a bit, but to me a fanwank would be if Han Solo appeared at the last minute and helped Picard et al. to battle Shinzon. Like R2D2 in the latest Star Trek movie -- that kind of thing. At least having Janeway in that scene is halfway believable within the Star Trek universe.

I am curious -- did you feel the same way about the EMH in First Contact?

A little bit, but not as much. As much as I am a "fan," I always cringe at the intentional "nod at the fans" in a movie.

Your head's gonna explode then when you see Shatner pop up in the next film.

Oh yes, he's going to be there!

Actually I have some Cumberbatch esque deduction on the matter. The same used for speculating it's Khan.

The story annoyed the hell out of me. Shinzon annoyed the hell out of me. I could kinda sorta if I squint and emptied my mind see where they were trying to go with the story. It just fell flat in execution.

I agree with others that the movie was better suited to an episode rather than a movie.
