http://pjmedia.com/jchristianadams/2012/05/16/53000-dead-voters-found-in-florida/
I have learned that Florida election officials are set to announce that the secretary of state has discovered and purged up to 53,000 dead voters from the voter rolls in Florida.
How could 53,000 dead voters have sat on the polls for so long? Simple. Because Florida hadn’t been using the best available data revealing which voters have died. Florida is now using the nationwide Social Security Death Index for determining which voters should be purged because they have died.
Here is the bad news. Most states aren’t using the same database that Florida is. In fact, I have heard reports that some election officials won’t even remove voters even when they are presented with a death certificate. That means that voter rolls across the nation still are filled with dead voters, even if Florida is leading the way in detecting and removing them.
But surely people aren’t voting in the names of dead voters, the voter fraud deniers argue. Wrong.
Consider the case of Lafayette Keaton. Keaton not only voted for a dead person in Oregon, he voted for his dead son. Making Keaton’s fraud easier was Oregon’s vote by mail scheme, which has opened up gaping holes in the integrity of elections. The incident in Oregon just scratches the surface of the problem. Massachusetts and Mississippi are but two other examples of the dead rising on election day.
Florida should be applauded for taking the problem seriously, even if Eric Holder’s Justice Department and many state election officials don’t.

I wouldn't trust the SSI list either - SSI has spent billions on dead people over the years....

And yet people still oppose the idea of bringing a valid ID when they go in to vote...

Now.... just because someone is still on the voter rolls doesn't mean someone actually voted for them. (Yes, states need to confirm each and every voter and clean up the rolls.) I wonder how many illegal votes were actually done.

No, it doesn't mean that someone voted for them, but it would still help clear the chaff, making voter fraud more difficult.

You jump through hoops to register to vote? I just full out a paper and mail it in.
Speaking if which, I need to register again.

Simply making people show a photo id when they vote makes all those zombies go away.

Shika, I hope if you're eligible to vote you will change your mind. It's apathy that brings down civilizations more that war, famine, greed, pestilence and anything else you can think of. As for dead people voting, why not? There're plenty of braindead people running for office.

Ahhh yes, Florida. The scene of the crime where th 2000 election was stolen. I suppose by the time folks in Florida get around to actually proving that they are indeed alive, the state will this time be stolen for Romney. Just like a lot of those purged felons in 2000 turned out not to be felons after all.
I do hope I am wrong.

Eleven dollars for an id is just an EXCUSE. You need an id to buy alcohol, tobbaco, buy a hotel room, get on a plane, go to the bank, it's an necessity in life. Them not getting one is holding them back way more than not being able to vote.
Heck the guy begging for money at the street corner makes more than that in an hour. To say nothing of honest ways of making money.

Wow, still blaming GWB and claiming it's stolen. 12 years after the fact. By your logic GWB should be able to run again as the first term he was not elected to.
If I need an ID to gain access to a building to do my job, EVERYONE should have to show an id to vote. Pretty simple. Any whining about cost is a joke, because I'd gladly foot the bill to have taxpayer dollars spent so all the whiners get an ID. For the love of Christ it's easier to get a free Gubbment cell phone. We can't fund ID's ?
Let the bridges I burn light the way.
You are special, just like everybody else.
