Star Trek: The Next Generation still has room for voyages of the Enterprise - E. They only shown the ship in the movies and games, but not in a Star Trek TV series, WTF? I want to see the voyages of the Starship Enterprise - E. Oh, and make a storyline to keep Data alive. That's why most fans hated Nemesis: They killed Data!

As enthusastic as your request is, that ship really has sailed. The cast is 20 years older than they were, and it's questionable if there's even a profitable market for a new Star Trek series.
I'd love to see one, but I wouldn't hold my breat. Really the Abramverse is probably our best hope for a new series.

When you produce a tv show (of any genre) for 7+ years, it is really hard to keep it fresh. Plus, with DS9 and VOY already made, you'd have continuity issues ad nauseam.
So no. Bad idea.

Wow, i have seen 11 films and almost done with watching EVER- SINGLE-EPISODE
then i will be done with ALL of the Trek untill the new movie, just gotta finsh up DS9 and a few Voyager episodes i skipped cause i wasn't in the mood for Q or Borg or what not.
They need to make a TNG movie, So need one! in an alternate timeline.... wow.... wait...
In TNG: Brothers, When Data locks the computer, The computer leaves out 2 numbers than adds one, unable to unlock the computer, and the little boy dies, Data creates a false reality in his mind and repetes the entire week killing someone each time till he goes crazy and, in the real universe Bev has him constrained, trying to get him to come back.... that would be exciting. I don't take credit to this Idea i heard it somewhere.

I agree.
But, would it be possible to bring back the same characters (Picard, Riker, etc.), with different actors? I know that would be unthinkable heresy, but I was just wondering what such a series might be like. If you could give them new episodes and use younger actors, would it be interesting? Or, would that just be too weird?

Sounds an awful lot like that Voyager episode where the Doctor goes nuts because his program can't handle two equally injured people when he can only save one. So he saved the one he liked more and then went nuts over the issue. Latent Image I think it was.

I think this is more of an "I want" thread than a "I think this will happen" thread.

I don't care how old TNG cast is, with a good director and a great script, a TNG movie will still be better than the CRAP-Trek JJ Abrams put out.

Agreed. It is now actually 25 years. But even though I'd love to see more TNG episodes, they are all older, and not really fitting. Maybe a new series similar to TNG. That would be nice.

I really love the TNG, I hope that there will be an animated series, although it's unlikely to happen

I think new TNG episodes would completely ruin it for me. I mean... Wesley Crusher OLD?! And the commanders and lieutenants even older, now that makes a slightly depressing show. It would be like 24/25th century retirement home.

But why not have Wesley as a captain? And maybe mix some of the casts together? Jake and Nog, Naomi Wildman, Icheb, maybe Alexander..to name a few. And then add a new cast to compliment them?

I think the show would be ruined by the type of audience now...or at least by the writers trying to make the show seem fresh and destroying the very essence of why the show is great. I get pissed off with people who claim they are Trekkies just because they like the new movie, but none of the original series. I can't bare to think if a new group of fans sprouted up centered around new actors, and completely change old and beloved characters- yet the new fans didn't appreciate the original...maybe I'm just a purest.
I think a TNG anime with the original actors voices would be awesome. You pick the right style and the right writer and you could really make TNG into an awesome animated series.
