I'm in favor of seeing Thor ask the Asgardians for help, the Borg can't adapt to ancient weapons or Asgardian magic, and I just LOVE to see vikings destroy stuff.

avengers get stomped. IF we use the borg from tng. They adapted. Had powerful ships. Endless drones. they would adapt to the avengers weapons and powers. Then the avengers are toast as the borg stick their assimilation tubes in their necks turning them into drones. OR they could be really cruel and shoot the cutting beam and tractor the whoel thing into space and let the avengers asphixiate.

In the case of heroes with mutant powers, I do not think the Borg could adapt. These are natural, genetic abilities, If the X-Men get involved, Wolverine would rip the Borg apart, and with his advanced healing ability, may even be impervious to assimilation, his body would force the nanoprobes out. Jean Grey using her telekinetic abilities could toss the Borg around, Cyclops and his optic blasts would likely melt the Borg, personal shield or not, that is super heated plasma we're talking about, that kind of heat would cook the borg inside their armor or shields, even if they could adapt to Cyclops's frequency.
If the Avengers have the Vision with them, he is an atrificial life form, and can turn non-corporeal, meaning he may also be impervious to assimilation.

One of the goals of the Borg are to add different genetic traits to their own.

very likely
Jean Grey using her telekinetic abilities could toss the Borg around,
with her regular powers she wouldnt be able to do so to a larg numer of Borg
Cyclops and his optic blasts would likely melt the Borg, personal shield or not, that is super heated plasma we're talking about, that kind of heat would cook the borg inside their armor or shields, even if they could adapt to Cyclops's frequency.
Are you a long term fan of the X-men, if so you are mistaken.
Cyclops optic blast is NOT super heated plasma. He emitsw beams of energy from his eyes that have the appearance of red light however, they do not give off heat. They and instead deliver concussive force without recoil.

I'd swear in the comics it said plasma. Plasma or not, concussive force is still one of the Borgs weaknesses, so it remains an option.
