Why didn't the reptilians that had gone back in time just convince the Xindi of the day not to destroy their own homeworld?

Didn't Daniels or Sillik's benefactor say something about the Sphere Builders being unable to time travel?

How the heck does time travel in Enterprise work? How can Daniels run out of time? How can changes "ripple through the timestream?" The whole idea of time travel is messed up in Enterprise.

Either they were stupid, or they didn't want to change the timeline.

Yes, but that was also contradicted in the very first episode of the story arc: "The Expanse". It's even directly mentioned:

SOVOL: "You said he told you this faction from the future could only communicate through time. So how do you suggest they got this component to the Xindi?"

ARCHER: "I haven't the slightest idea. But that doesn't change what's on these scanners."

Maybe the Sphere Builders could only time travel sparingly.

True, but then it's never been consistent throughout the franchise.

Thanks for the clarification. Maybe the Sphere Builders sort of loaned a time travel device from an allied faction, or something.
