In "Lower Decks," Worf tests Ensign Sito Jaxa by telling her to put on a blindfold. Later, he tells her he just invented that, to test her strength of character.
However, the Japanese samurai have a technique (or school) called Yami, which teaches both offensive and defensive techniques to use, when one is battling in complete darkness.

I dunno, I always just felt weird watching that scene. This huge hulking guy in Worf beating the crap out of a little woman in Sito, who's blind on top of it all.

I realize why Worf did that, but I think it is interesting that the Japanese martial arts have a technique that enables one to fight as if blindfolded, although the Japanese system also would make the opponent unable to see.
I know the two aren't actually related, but I thought the existence of such training was extremely fascinating!
