Remember the scene with the doctor as priest and the Irish guy, who always asks for money?

Before Harry's arm wrestling match, he tells the doctor that he needs counsel because he has broken the 5th commandment again. Now I've just looked up what the fith commandment is and wikipedia says it's "don't murder"...

Does that mean he has killed someone or did they number the commandment different in that time in Ireland? Or is brawling also forbidden by the 5th commandment? Or is there a joke I'm not getting?

Does anyone have an idea about this?

I see, makes more sense than 'don't murder'.

I was looking at the catholic section in the table there:

I'll bet the writer(s) of the episode just figured, hey it's bad to break any of the 10 commandments and they decided to put it in there and just picked one of the numbers at random. And didn't bother to research what the actual commandment says. That would make sense to me.

I guess the author was anglican, reformist or from a free church and didn't realize catholics number the commandments differently.

ummm, I was raised Roman Catholic

and from what I remember, and I just checked my old sunday school bible, ,the 5th commanment is

"Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee."

Then the table I looked it up at isn't fully accurate.

I was also raised Catholic, but I don't remember the order of the 10 commandments.

Maybe it was a joke about Tom's not-so-detailed history knowledge.

True and Fair enough, girl(?) ... sorry if you are male.

Also, just to be clear; because I have this problem a lot now, I was NOT making some round-about slam on you or anyone else either; I was literally just commenting on the character in the story.

Yes; I am NOT smart enough, nor do I really care enough to put serious effort into hurting anyone's' psyche ... well okay, SOME times I do; but not in this case and not recently on these boards.  So sorry if I accidentally hurt anyone's feelings; sorry if you thought I was making overtures to you or about you or about anyone for that matter.

I honestly was talking about just the character and what that scene felt or seemed like to me.  No offense intended and I hope none was taken.  And yes Passionfruit; a lot of people drink too much (I do Know this) and we All need help mentally dealing with this crazy, mad, and vicious World.

I wish you only the best, girl(?)  ... okay; am I right about your sex?  I just get some weird insights sometimes; doesn't really matter though.

Peace and Long Life.

You didn't hurt my feelings, I just forgot to post a smiley. (And yes, I'm female.)

>Okay forgive me; I am not harassing you ... I hope.

lol, no, I don't feel harassed so far.

What do you mean with legal? If I'm a grown up? lol, I just became 30 last month, but I guess over the internet it is hard to tell.
