I always thought the conclusion of this ep in Image In The Sand was obviously a false vision created by the powerwraths to trick Sisko.

and I understand your point fully, and pretty much agree.But thev way zI see it, anytime an ongoing series makes a change in the era of a particular story, it can be said to be time traveling.Maybe not for the characters, but certinly for the viewers.
