Uh...it did. Watch "The Andorian Incident", "The Forge", "Awakening", and "Kir'Shara" (to name a few).

Mitch, when I said "should have etablished," I meant why are people questioning Vulcans behaving badly when there is plenty of canon evidence they act illogically. A lot.

Hope this clears up my point.

Spock, and ALL Vulcans do INDEED have emotions.

What I meant by that is that Vulcans (and, in this case, a half-Vulcan) don't display their emotions in public.

Just remember how they had some of the Vulcans acting in DS9 during some of the middle parts.

I hate to admit it, but that's one thing JJ Abrams got right in that stupid movie, It was mention in Journey To Babel when Spock's mother said he was teased by the other kids, I don't think it's bullying as it is teasing because Spock is different, I gather at that age, the kids didn't master logic and self control yet.

That part pretty much made sense to me. The only problem was that all the writing was (forgiveably) not in Vulcan. Kirk as a kid, on the other hand...

ST(09) and why couldn't they freaking give it a better name,

ST(09) is a shorthand name given to it by people on message boards, so "they" would be the people on this message board that you have a complaint about. In this case, it's easier to decipher between the film of the same name as the original TV show.

Spock's mother had previously mentioned it in "Journey to Babel".

I saw Star Trek 11 in theaters. It was okay, but the fact that they just abandoned canon the way they did kinda irritated me. As far as I'm concerned, that wasn't Star Trek... it was Captain Rocket. I could go on for hours about what I didn't like... but I don't want to. Long story short... I for one would have rather they made a new crew with a new ship on the old timeline instead of rewriting everything.

Was it a good movie? Sure. Will I watch the next one if they continue with the same crew and 'timeline'?? Sure. Is it Star Trek??? In name, maybe... but this 'alternate timeline' deal pretty much ruins any future hope of making a new Star Trek movie or series assosiated to the original 'timeline'.
