>Why can you not admit that the existance of god cannot be proven and that it is simply based on faith. Why can you not admit that god still belongs to the realm of philosophy.
Because that would be a lie and I don't lie.

ok, so if it would be a lie...........then you can clinicly prove the exsistence of a God.

So, please do so with out citing the beliefs of others.

Because no matter what I have shown or could show, those that choose to ignore what I've written will continue to do so.  This discussion has gone on thousands of years will billions of people.  Some believe facts and some don't.  When I ask questions that people can't answer, the anti-God group doesn't have an issue with that.... but when I provide stuff that people flat out don't like.... well, that's something else entirely.

thousands of years?  really?  oh, you must mean the catholic church wiping out any pagan religion they came up against and adopting their traditions.

>only the most broad.  There are lots of things that can be immoral but are not illegal.  Just like things can be illegal but not immoral.

>and no, in lots of instances the people do not determine if a government stays or goes.

Absolutely correct - there are a lot of things immoral, but not illegal.... abortion, homosexuality, premarital sex, etc.  Many culture have been very much against these (and more) for centuries ... but in some cultures (both historically and current) they're accepted.  This is exactly why the argument that culture creates morality is flawed.  And since a culture can change what they believe is right and wrong, then that means that there are no absolutes.

Yes, there are instances where the people have a hard time throwing off a tyrannical government, but in the long run, it usually happens (or it collapses.)

so, there is nothing in the bible that was once moral that is now immoral?  like say, slavery, or concubines, or plural marriages?

and there is nothing that was considered immoral that is now ok?  like say, charging interest?

these are all absolute truths that will never change.

I'm honestly surprised at the number of people who do not believe in having sex before marriage!  At the moment (9:30am EST on May 18, 2012), nearly half of those polled believe in waiting till they are married to "do the deed."

Wow.

As for me?  Well that ship has sailed, having lost my virginity quite a long time ago (to a wonderful open-minded Christian girl).

I've since had many relationships, with the majority leading to sex.  And I really like sex.

However, if I were to find the "right girl?"  And she happened to be a virgin?  I'd like to think I could hold off until marriage, if that's what she wanted.

I'm not sure I believe waiting till marriage makes the sex better or helps to solidify the relationship...  But hey, to each their own.

Really, I have no moral objection to sex before marriage, as the Driver wrote... the ship kinda has sailed on that one, but sex just enhances a relationship it doesn't define it by any measure.

If I met a girl I really liked, I'd imagine I could hold off until marriage if that's what she wanted.

Oh and guys... it is getting on the edge of civility guys. We all have our own beliefs and values. Just because we don't share the same ones, doesn't make them wrong. Different ideals for different people. Just as you wouldn't want anyone telling you how you live your life is wrong, respect other people's choices to the same.

I believe it is wrong and unhealthy for people and society as a whole.  It contributes to the spread of STD's because people tend to be sleeping with more than one person.  It also harms children who are born because of it, growing up without parents who are together.  Both of these harm society because having more sick people is damaging, and children without two steady parents are more likely to committ criminal acts.

>Bottom line:

>Quite regardless of the moral implications, sex is biologicalkly encoded in the human animal to be the single most important activity ever conceived of by the time they are well into puberty.  Happily, this overwhelming urge lessens consideraly by the time you reach my age, so I find that I am now able to 'climb out of the saddle' for long enough to occasinally read a book or watch T.V.

>Kids WILL have sex...simply because they CAN!!  The only thing their parents can do is to make certain that there are always plenty of birth control pills and condoms to go around, and that they are made to understand that having a baby at sixteen is quite likely to ruin their entire lives, and foredoom the infant to an existence of impoverished misery.

>Grow up, people!  Talking your little angels out of 'doin' it' at the first opportunity is just not a realistic option!!

>

So you basically think that it would be ok for teenagers to be having sex?
