Who are the top 12 most important people to the history of the Star Trek Universe?

They don't need to be main, or even recurriung characters, just people who carried a lot of influence, or had a big, historic reputation. Maybe they were only mentioned once or twice.

I'm now starting a running total of the most popularly chosen. The numbers behind them are just the point totals I'm using to see who has the most points.

Can I ask why you'd like to know 12 people? Why not 10? I'm not sure I can think of 12 people. I think Q seemed the most "omnipotent", so I can't really imagine anyone else having as much of an affect on the galaxy as him. Especially considering we only really see our small portion of the Alpha Quadrant and the goings on within.

Well, the parts ST Universe that we know about. I have a bit of an irrational grudge against the number 10. Don't ask me why. I think it has to do with the lack of factors. 12 is just so much more... Well rounded.

and what are those numbers doing behind the first entery? If they are point totals where are the other enteries? If they are individual scoring for each entery why are they not in order from high to low, or from low to high?

The point totals are to measure the rankings of each character. Putting someone at #1, or on the top of the list, gives them 12 points, putting them at #2 gives them 11, #3 gives them 10, and so on...

The totals are at the top. For example, Zefram Cochrane has 30 points because he was #1 (12 points) on one pick, #3 (10) on another, and #5 (8) on a third. 12+10+8=30 points total.
