Perhaps there can be a Romulan Wars series with Archer or some other captain. If done right, it could be a good show that could explain a lot of things that Enterprise didn't.

I think if they do a Romulan Wars arc, it should be part of Enterprise and not a stand-alone show or movie.

I've got a better idea than all y'all.
"Star Trek: Conundrum". It's part "Big Bang Theory", part "Extras", with a healthy dose of "Spaced". A single-camera sitcom, it will follow the trials and tribulations of a group of ambitious Trekkers trying to create their own series and pitch it to the networks. There will be romance, comedy, geekery, and even some adventure: as our heroes brainstorm and write their scripts, the audience will see dramatic interpretations of how the episodes would look, complete with cutting-edge special effects. It would be like two shows in one. There would also be plenty of opportunities for cameos from the likes of Wil Wheaton, Brent Spiner, and Jeri Ryan.

^ Not sure about the name, but the premise sounds awesome. I would totally watch that.

It sounds like something you'd see on a sketch-show.

OtakuJo, my idea is a feat of marketing genius and not at all in any way inspired by a sketch on Portlandia.

It's a sketch comedy series on some cable channel or other (I watched it on Hulu, I think). The sketch in question featured two characters who become obsessed with Battlestar Galactica: they lose their jobs because they're too busy watching, and once they've finished they track down Ronald D. Moore to get him to write more episodes.

Haha -- Ron Moore in some kind of Misery scenario... ?
j/k. What a co-incidence I just discovered BSG a few weeks back and got through the whole series the other day. Watching it right now. Melikey.

So the answer to how to perpetuate Trek is to destroy it?

I suppose it's possible they could make a mini-series reuniting the Enterprise crew for a 3 hour special based around the Romulan war.
I wouldn't count on it though.

They don't need another succesful Trek movie to give evidence that a Trek series would be profitable. The success of the last movie and Big Bang Theory provide enough evidence. The problem with waiting out more movies is it leaves the problem- do you make a series in the Abramsverse or the original timeline.

The Romulans got their butts kicked for the most part by the Dominion in DS9.. However, was it the Romulan ships that were immune to the Breen wweapon or the Klingon. Idr
