Should the next chapter in human spaceflight be the creation of an International Spacecraft?

I'm working on this idea and would love to get thoughts and feedback, here's the website I'm working on:

Good idea?

I like your main points, especially numbers one and seven. Following are a couple of research concerns that need further attention. I suppose that we still have some experiments on the effects of long-term space travel on Earthlings. There have been some in the past. This is where I would start: publicizing  these experiments, making people aware of them. One other goal that could use further attention is spurring research into ways to mitigate or reverse the loss of calcium which occurs during long periods in space. Here's a brief paper on the matter. (The first page is blank.) ETT

True there is still alot needs doing before this can happen but I still think this is awesome having every space industry come togather, pulling the resouces and brains to come up a amazing space ship.  Also this will better unite us a step closer. Hopefully we will be where earth is in 2nd century onwards but sooner. United Earth!

You have to some place to dock the International Spacecraft as well as providing a meaning relationship for the use of such International Spacecraft.

I think that to foster international relations space stations or tourist hubs should be first created over Japan where Japan and India come together to build their first space hub. The second hub would be built between Israel and other pro-space exploration countries in the Middle East that would be built over Dubai. These two space hubs then be linked with the American space hub built near the I.S.S.

These space hubs would be relatively easy to build by using the existing I.S.S. trusswork as the foundation for each space hub.

Instead of science modules being added however habit and "hotel modules" would replace them. The habit module would be the same module use aboard the I.S.S. Instead of connecting the other types of modules to the ports on the habit module HEM-C and HEM-D modules would added in their place.

Cupola would be added so that people staying in the hub could either look down on Earth or out into space anytime that they wanted to.

Once these three space hubs have been built ferries would transport people back and forth between each space hub while a starliner could take people to the Moon for a few days visit to see the Moon upclose and then return to one of the three space hubs.

If your looking for a project this summer try this one out.

Create your own International Ferry or Starliner using the following criteria.

The docking mechanism must be consistent with the docking mechanism used by SpaceX to dock their capsule with the I.S.S or the same CBM that the Orion capsule uses to dock with the I.S.S.

I.S.S. modules that would provide a linear (straight line design) ferry or starliner that could carry 10 passengers between each hub and upto forty in the starliner.

Use the VASIMR engine or modern day engine systems as the propulsion systems for each type of craft.

People always wondered why StarFleet exists.....lets show them this summer.

Make certain to post links to your ideas here so that everyone can see your ideas.

Let's go.

Is there criteria for what the first starship must look like?

I think that a general proposal section for designs should be created where fleeters ideas can be sent to you and then posted for everyone else to see and draw inspiration from.

Also is there going to be a section for fantasy starships such as the Enterprise that until the technology has been developed will unregrettably remain fantasy along with a section that is devoted starships based upon reverse engineering vehicles used today for space exploration to create a more reality based approached to creating a starship?

What about engine systems? is there going to be a section devoted to teaching those that browse the website the basics behind rocket propulsion from early fireworks upto the VASIMR and everything in between? I think that such a section is a must for those seriously interested in designing a starship to at least understand the fundamentals behind how a starship works.

Hello,

We want to make sure there are no constraints on the ultimate designers, so there is no preconceived notion of what the first spaceship will look like or what technologies will ultimately be incorporated.  The main focus is to promote the idea and the international cooperation needed to make it real.

With that said, you have some great ideas.  Send me an email and maybe we can work together.
