USS Voyager crew could used Geodesic send starship design stay warp 9 perhaps months at a time. USS Voyager send in by auto pilot after USS Voyager crew beam other starship with supplies. Starfleet could working starship stay warp 9 for even longer periods of time.

I never really thought about it, but you're right...they could have sent a probe or something through a fold that would alert Starfleet that Voyager was alright. That would have been the smart thing to do...

Plot hole, I guess.

^ I mean, they should have done it before "Inside Man" - they did say they'd considered opening a fold early on in their journey, but dismissed it because it would have killed them.

I also believe they needed someone on the targeted recieving end .............or the fold could oopen just about anywhere

Would a fold work in another quadrant?  Could they successfully project one into another quadrant?
